Description
The Ntonso Adinkra Village is the historic home of traditional Adinkra cloth, one of Ghana’s most treasured cultural art forms. Located about 20 km north of Kumasi, Ntonso is the only place where authentic Adinkra cloth is still produced entirely by traditional methods—from preparing natural dye made from the bark of the Badie tree to hand-carving calabash stamps and printing symbolic patterns onto cloth. Each Adinkra symbol represents an Akan proverb, philosophy, or moral lesson, making every piece both beautiful and meaningful. Visitors can watch artisans at work, participate in hands-on stamping workshops, and purchase authentic handcrafted textiles directly from local craftsmen.
