This isn't a tour of Ghana's past; it's a walk through the exact road your ancestors were forced to take, ending somewhere entirely different: a welcome. Eight days deliberately paced so history has room to land, and reflection isn't rushed past on the way to the next stop. Every ceremony is optional. Every price is confirmed before you pay.

NOT INCLUDED
Flights, meals beyond the welcome dinner and farewell gathering, a second castle or Kakum National Park, DNA testing and genealogy research, and additional nights. Want travel insurance for your trip? Ask about our referral partner, Travel World Insurance.

Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1: Akwaaba, Your Welcome Home

Ghana meets you at the gate: personal welcome, private transfer, and an evening welcome dinner where your host walks you through the journey ahead and what it might ask of you emotionally before you've even unpacked.

Day 2: Pan African Day

Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, the W.E.B. Du Bois Center where he chose to spend his final years, and the landmarks of a nation that declared its own independence first on the continent. A guided reflection closes the day: what does return mean, to you, specifically?

Day 3: Jamestown, Memory, Community, and Living Accra

One of the city's oldest neighborhoods, colonial architecture beside fishing boats, boxing gyms beside street art, a community still very much alive, not a museum piece. You walk it with respect, and residents are never treated as scenery.

Day 4: Assin Manso, Remembrance on the Road to the Coast

The Ancestral Slave River, the Memorial Wall of Return, the actual inland route once forced upon captured Africans toward the coast. Time is protected here for whatever you need it for: silence, prayer, tears, or simply standing still. No guest is ever required to enter the water or take part in a ritual.

Day 5: The Coastal Castle and the Journey Inland

Cape Coast Castle or Elmina Castle, one only, chosen so the visit gets the time and weight it deserves rather than being rushed alongside a second site. The Door of No Return, the dungeons, the full history, told straight, before you travel on to Kumasi.

Day 6: Asante Royal Heritage and Living Craftsmanship

Manhyia Palace Museum and the story of a kingdom that never fully bowed, followed by kente weaving or Adinkra stamping with artisans still practicing traditions centuries deep.

Day 7: Naming, Blessing, and Farewell

A traditional naming or welcome ceremony, hosted by an approved community elder, is entirely optional and never presented as proof of ancestry or citizenship- just a genuine welcome home. A farewell gathering closes the circle before your return to Accra.

Day 8: Departure, Carry the Journey Forward

A relaxed final morning, your digital journey record, and a flight home carrying something you didn't have when you landed.
