Akaa falls
Waterfall | Nature Attraction | Hiking | Eco Tourism
Description
Akaa Falls is one of the Eastern Region’s hidden natural treasures, located approximately 7 km from Boti Falls and about 21 km northeast of Koforidua. The waterfall is fed by the Boti River, the same river that forms the famous Boti Falls, making both attractions ideal to visit on the same trip.
The falls feature a stunning cascade dropping from rocky cliffs into a lush forest gorge surrounded by dense tropical vegetation. During the rainy season, Akaa Falls becomes especially spectacular, with water flowing from multiple sides of the rock face. Visitors descend approximately 250 concrete steps through the forest before reaching the base, where they are rewarded with breathtaking scenery, cool mist, and a peaceful natural setting. The area is also rich in butterflies, birds, and unique rock formations, making it an excellent destination for hiking, photography, and eco-tourism.
