Description
The National Theatre of Ghana is the country’s premier performing arts venue and one of Accra’s most recognizable architectural landmarks. Officially inaugurated in 1992, the theatre was constructed with support from the Government of China and features a striking modern design inspired by a soaring bird in flight. The complex serves as the home of Ghana’s three resident national performing arts companies: the National Dance Company, the National Symphony Orchestra, and the National Theatre Players.
Throughout the year, the theatre hosts stage plays, musicals, concerts, comedy shows, dance performances, film premieres, festivals, conferences, and international cultural events, making it one of the most vibrant cultural destinations in Ghana.
