Description

Boti Waterfalls is one of Ghana’s most iconic natural attractions and the most visited waterfall in the Eastern Region. Located about 17 km northeast of Koforidua, the twin waterfalls are formed by the Ponmpon River and cascade approximately 30 metres over a rocky cliff into a refreshing natural pool below. According to local Krobo tradition, the larger waterfall represents the male and the smaller the female. During the rainy season, the two streams appear to merge, creating a spectacular rainbow that locals describe as the “marriage” of the rivers.

Visitors descend approximately 250 concrete steps through a lush forest to reach the base of the falls. A visit to Boti is often described as a “three-in-one adventure”, as it also includes the famous Umbrella Rock and the Three-Headed Palm Tree, both accessible via a guided forest hike. The best time to visit is during the rainy season (typically June to August), when the waterfalls are at their fullest and most dramatic.
