Umbrella Rock
Natural Rock Formation | Hiking Destination | Scenic Viewpoint | Eco Tourism
Description
Umbrella Rock is one of Ghana’s most distinctive natural landmarks, located within the Boti Forest Reserve near the famous Boti Waterfalls in the Eastern Region. Named for its remarkable umbrella-like shape, the giant granite rock is naturally balanced on a narrow base, creating the appearance of a massive umbrella suspended above the ground.
Reaching Umbrella Rock involves a scenic guided hike through the tropical rainforest, where visitors encounter rich vegetation, birds, butterflies, and breathtaking viewpoints. From the summit, visitors are rewarded with sweeping panoramic views of the surrounding forest, valleys, and hills of the Akuapem landscape. The attraction is often visited together with Boti Waterfalls, the Three-Headed Palm Tree, and Akaa Falls, making it one of the highlights of an Eastern Region nature adventure.
